Inside Look: Playing Dress Up

Hey Baby Dolls,

You may be unaware, but I'm staying in Winston-Salem with Daja instead of going back home to the Virgin Islands for the summer. I did a feature on the lovely thriftshionista a few weeks back and you can see the post here. Now that I'm staying at her house, I have a thruddy (thrifting buddy) AND a photographer on call. As she said in her interview, she gets a lot of her thrifted pieces from her grandmother's closet. The death of a family member is one of the saddest and heartbreaking moments in a person's life. However, it is also a message to the living that we will never leave this world with our material things. All of her Nana's things are still in her bedroom, but Daja has learned to come to terms with her passing and embrace the wonderful closet that she left behind. I encourage all of you to take rather unfortunate moments in your own life and turn them into something positive and extraordinary. Also, make great use of the material things in your life while you have the chance, but never forget to cherish the people because material things are useless without people to share them with. My Thrifted Closet presents to you an inside look as Daja plays dress up like a kid again :)
