Review & OOTD: Pink Poodle Dress Adult Plus Costume

Hi Bellas!

I think you guys know how much I LOVE vintage fashion. Idk, there is just something SOOO dope about the past whether it be poodle skirts, midi skirts, puffy sleeves, etc. I love it all. Therefore, you can imagine how EXCITED I was when the lovely people over at Plus Size Lingerie Boutique requested that I review one of their items. I took it as the perfect opportunity to live out an afternoon of being a "Pink Lady" from Grease. I enjoyed putting the look together and even pinning my hair up to match my retro theme!

As you can tell from the title, I chose the Pink Poodle Dress Adult Plus Costume in the 1X and it fit me like a glove. Not only did this costume come with the dress, but it also came with a vinyl belt and black scarf. First off, I was really impressed that the sizing was true to size. Also, the quality of the costume was impeccable! Many times, costumes can be cheaply made, but this costume could last many Halloweens and costume parties. I am excited to wear this dress again because it is way too cute to have it sitting in my closet. The greatest part about this costume is that it doesn't look like a costume! I felt overly dressed and I think I looked like a princess lol. Furthermore, in my opinion, the costume is very slimming! You always want your garments to accentuate your curves, while keeping everything in place.

Poodle Dress- C/O of Plus Size Lingerie Boutique
Flats-$19.99 @ Payless
Double Chained Pearl Necklace-$1.50 @ Primark

I don't know if you noticed, but I rotated between my pearls and the black scarf to diversify my styling options. I only wished the scarf was a bit longer so that I could tie it around my head as a bow, but I can always use my own scarf the next time I wear this costume. I also couldn't figure out how to fasten the belt and it kept loosening up. Therefore, I suggest using your own belt, or using a safety pin to keep it fastened. Other than that, I was thoroughly wowed by this costume. In the event that I need a professional, well put together costume for any event, I will definitely be heading over to this site. I can't speak about the quality of their lingerie, but if its anything like the costume I received, you will definitely be satisfied. For those days when you're feeling sexy and seductive or funky and retro, Plus Size Lingerie Boutique has got you covered! Another plus is that they offer a flat rate shipping cost of $5.99 for US Ground and FREE shipping for orders over $75 or more. Not too bad right?

SIDE NOTE: Look at that little poddle with her cute bow! How divalicious is she?

As always,

Thanks for reading!

Are You Thrifty Enough for the Runway?

Hi Dolls!

If you haven't entered the GIVEAWAY, you still have time!! However, I'm here to talk to you about a dope non profit organization that I recently found out about:  Thrift Store Runway. Every month or so, they hold a contest to see which thriftshionista/o can create the best runway look under $50. Five winners are chosen and each person gets $500. Yes hunny, 500 big ones. Imagine winning $500 for something you LOVE doing anyway. I wish I could enter myself, but you have to have receipts for proof of purchase and I NEVER save receipts (guess who is going to start saving them now lol). All you have to do is submit your looks to their website and you're entered. They are always looking for more contestants so enter today and show them what #teamthriftedcloset can do!

Here's some looks I was totally digging from the site:

GIVEAWAY: Swirl Blue Coral Earrings

HI THRIFTSHIONISTAS/OS!!

I told you guys, we'd have a giveaway when we hit 500 thrifty babes, but I still want to hold off until I can giveaway a mass amount of items. However, thanks to Ose of Ose (Uh-Seh) we are having a pre-giveaway if you will lol. We are giving away a pair of vintage earrings from her shop.

Ose (Uh-Seh) is a consignment line, specializing in vintage clothing for curvy women. Her motto is "vintage wear with an emphasis on curve" so you curvy ladies can definitely capitalize on her gems. She takes vintage pieces and recontructs them to fit curvy women from size 12-22. I personally never have problems when I hit thrift stores, but a lot of curvy women have messaged me or hit me up saying that they have a hard time finding vintage/thrifted clothes in their size. One of the best things about this site, is that you are guaranteed one-of-a-kind pieces. That means you won't be a twin when you hit the streets. Also, many of her garments are inspired from her African heritage and you guys know, I love my kente cloth and tribal print!

I just had to share some of my favorite items with you:

Safari Pink Button Down Top

Here's the best part, because we love you so much, not only can you win these earrings but you can also use the coupon code (MTC10off) to get 10% off your order.

DOPE RIGHT?!!? Now to the Giveaway! It starts today and ends on August 5th at midnight. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!

OOTD: Pattern Mix Up and Contest Entry

Hi Thriftshionistas/os!!

Happy Sunday to All!! I think it's official, this IS my favorite outfit of all time. I think I say that ALL the time, but I'm serious this time lol. This is a look I've entered into MissToniDaley's $20 Get Dressed Challenge on YT.  I had to put an entire outfit together that totaled less than $20; however, my outfit came up to $16.50. Not to bad right? I HOPE I win... Winner gets a haul from Toni herself...EEEEK!!!!!!!!!! Even if I don't win, I had fun putting this look together and you guys can finally see a glimpse of this beautiful paradise that I call home. I also got to mix floral and polka dots so I was #geeked. Mixing patterns and color blocking are my fav.

I hope you love the look! Check out the video for outfit details.
